Tyler Perry continues his reign as the King of Good Deeds after he offered Cocoa Brown $400,000 towards a new home.
Cocoa starred in Tyler’s hit TV series, “For Better or Worse” for seven seasons as well as his 2014 film, The Single Moms Club.
Cocoa Brown Loses Her Home In Devastating House Fire
The comedian and actress lost her Fayetteville, Georgia home to a devastating fire last weekend.
Thankfully, Cocoa, her son Phoenix, and their pets were able to get out of the home unharmed.
Unfortunately, they lost everything besides the clothes on their backs.
Help Cocoa Rebuild Campaign
A GoFundMe campaign was launched to support the “For Better or Worse,” actress rebuild and get back on her feet after such a devastating loss.
The campaign has exceeded its original goal of $50,000 and is now close to $70,000.
Celebrities like Tiffany Haddish, Bryon Allen, and Marlon Wayans stepped up big with generous donations of $5,000 each.
Others like Crystal Fox, Luenell, Charlamagne Tha God, and Lil Rel Howery also gave substantial donations.
Cocoa Brown Updates Friends & Fans
Cocoa Brown took to social media on Thursday to offer an update and to share her gratitude for the outpouring of support.
I’d like to thank everyone who has been reaching out to me and my son during this devastating time.
I apologize if I haven’t been answering calls, especially yesterday.
But I lost my phone in the fire and I was using a spare phone that didn’t have enough memory and the phone crashed so if you were trying to reach me yesterday my apologies.
This is by far the most devastating thing that’s ever happened to me at least with my parents I knew it was coming.
I’m not OK but all of your love and support has been incredibly gracious and kind.
Please pray for me and my son as we navigate through this unexpected horrifying incident. Cocoa
