The iconic singer, known for timeless hits like “A Whole New World,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “If Ever You’re in My Arms Again,” passed away on Tuesday, June 2, surrounded by family, just days after suffering a stroke.

Born Robert Peapo Bryson in Greenville, South Carolina, the legendary singer discovered his love for music at an early age and began performing professionally as a teenager.

Over the course of his decades-long career, Peabo Bryson became one of the most celebrated duet singers in music history.

His 1991 duet of “Beauty and the Beast” with Céline Dion became a global hit and earned the pair a Grammy Award.

A year later, Bryson teamed up with Regina Belle for “A Whole New World” from Disney’s “Aladdin,” which became the first song from an animated film to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bryson also delivered unforgettable collaborations with Roberta Flack, including “Tonight, I Celebrate My Love,” a song that remains a staple for R&B fans decades later.

Peabo Bryson’s Legacy Will Live On Through His Music
