What Is “The Westies” About?

Set in Hell’s Kitchen during the early 1980s, “The Westies” follows the notoriously violent Irish gang as construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center creates an opportunity for a major payday.

Despite being heavily outnumbered by New York’s powerful Five Families of the Italian Mafia, the Westies have managed to hold their ground through intimidation, brutality, and strategic alliances.

But trouble is brewing within the gang.

As younger members push for change and longtime leaders fight to maintain control, internal tensions threaten to tear the organization apart.

Meanwhile, the FBI is expanding its investigation into organized crime, putting additional pressure on the Westies and their fragile relationship with the Mafia.
