After years of chaos, heartbreak, and unforgettable performances, HBO’s Emmy-winning cultural phenomenon “Euphoria” has officially come to an end, and whew… I am truly at a loss for words.
Despite the third and final season of Sam Levinson’s critically acclaimed series drawing loud and very mixed reactions from viewers, I buckled up and enjoyed the ride.
But I have to admit, I was absolutely not anticipating or emotionally prepared for the chain of events that unfolded in tonight’s finale.
The season teased themes of faith, redemption, and evil from the very beginning, but nothing could have prepared me for how emotionally heavy this final episode would actually be as Rue, Cassie, Jules, Maddy, and the rest of the crew reached the end of their journeys following the shocking events of Episode 7.
I feel like I need some privacy so I can have a full-on guttural ugly cry.
I’m still processing the episode, so I don’t have many thoughts to offer just yet.
But I do know Zendaya showed and proved why she’s THAT GIRL in these Hollywood streets once again.
Colman Domingo always understands the assignment, Sydney Sweeney delivered some of her strongest work this season, and I especially loved the compelling performance by Darrell Britt-Gibson as Bishop.
Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, and Alexa Demie also helped make this finale feel like the end of a true television era.
