Rapper Desiigner, best known for his 2016 hit “Panda,” has been arrested again in South Carolina following an alleged domestic violence incident.
According to police, Sidney Royel Selby III, who performs as Desiigner, was arrested in Horry County and charged with one count of second-degree domestic violence and three counts of malicious injury to animals or personal propertyinvolving alleged damage valued between $2,000 and $10,000.
Police responded to a home on Arbor Ridge Circle in Conway after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting a man chasing a woman with a hammer and damaging a neighbor’s property.
Officers reportedly found Selby outside with blood on his left hand before taking him into custody.
What Police Say Happened
Investigators say the incident began after an argument between Selby and his girlfriend, who is also the mother of his child.
According to the police report, Selby allegedly smashed two of the woman’s cell phones with a hammer, preventing her from calling 911.
The woman fled the home with their child, but police say Selby caught up with her outside, threw her to the ground, ripped her Dior handbag from her shoulder, and tossed it over a fence.
She was able to escape into a neighbor’s home and lock herself in a bathroom.
Police allege Selby then used the hammer to break several front windows of the neighbor’s home in an apparent attempt to get inside.
Investigators also say he damaged two vehicles parked outside, including shattering windows and striking a windshield with the hammer.
