HBO has released the official trailer for the five-part documentary series from Emmy Award nominated filmmaker Eric Goode, the director behind “Tiger King” and HBO’s “Chimp Crazy.”
Premiering Thursday, August 6, the series explores the dangerous underground world of exotic reptile trafficking.

Eric Goode follows his lifelong fascination with reptiles into a hidden world of smugglers, collectors, traffickers, and federal investigators.
As he digs deeper, he uncovers a billion-dollar criminal enterprise fueled by an obsession with rare and endangered species.

When Does ‘Monsters Of God’ Premiere?
Monsters Of God premieres Thursday, August 6, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, with new episodes airing weekly through September 3.
Episodes will also stream on HBO Max.
The series earned the TV Premiere Audience Award at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival, adding even more buzz ahead of its debut.
