Cassie and Sean “Diddy” Combs have reached a settlement just one day after she filed an explosive lawsuit accusing the Hip Hop mogul of rape, repeated physical abuse, and sex trafficking.

On Friday evening, both parties announced they had reached an agreement to resolve the case, however, the terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
Cassie, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, said in a statement:
I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.
Diddy also released a statement saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
By settling this lawsuit, Diddy avoided the risk and additional embarrassment of legal discovery – in which evidence is made public. But, most importantly he avoided a trial.
Cassie also benefitted from the settlement by avoiding being cross-examined by Diddy’s attorneys during a trial.
While the lawsuit may have been shut down, the floodgates of resurfaced accusations, conspiracies, and rumors of Diddy’s alleged misdoings have bubbled to the surface of social media.
It will be interesting to see how this will impact the music mogul – if at all.
