Over the weekend, T.D. Jakes‘ daughter opened up about a terrifying accident that nearly changed her life.
What Happened To Sarah Jakes Roberts?
Sarah got straight to the point, writing, “Last night was scary. I was almost paralyzed, but God didn’t see fit to let that be my story.”
She explained that the accident happened while she was playing with her daughter on a trampoline.
“I was playing a game with my Ella on the trampoline and landed on my neck. Instantly, I heard several pops in my neck.”
What started as a playful moment quickly turned serious.
“She called her dad, who called 911. Two hospitals, several scans, and hours later…” Sarah shared, setting the scene for what came next.
Her Injuries Were Serious
After undergoing multiple scans, doctors confirmed the extent of her injuries.
“We learned that I had fractured my neck, herniated discs, and endangered areas of my spine that could have left me paralyzed.”
She made it clear just how close things came to a different outcome, adding, “One disc up or one disc lower, and this would’ve been a different testimony.”
That statement alone puts everything into perspective.
Sarah Jakes Roberts On Her Recovery
Now, Sarah is focused on healing and moving with intention.
“Instead, I’ll be wearing this brace for 4–6 weeks to keep my neck stable and avoid further damage.”
She also emphasized the importance of slowing down.
“Rest and recovery will give my body a chance to heal. I’ll be lying low while I navigate this injury with wisdom.”
Even in the midst of it all, her faith remains front and center.
“I’m soaking in the presence and kindness of God and in the love of friends and family.”
And in true Sarah fashion, she kept her spirit intact, writing, “So, if you see me and I’m out and about, but moving slowly, just know that I’m still the birthday even with a neck brace.”
A Moment That Could Have Changed Everything
What started as a simple moment with her daughter turned into a life-altering scare.
