I am heartbroken to report Roderick “Pooh” Clark, an original member of the R&B group, Hi-Five, has passed away.
Pooh transitioned to his heavenly home on Easter Sunday (April 17).
He was 49.
In 1992, while traveling on I-95 to do a radio show, the group was involved in a car accident that left Pooh paralyzed from the chest down.
Watch a clip from the group’s “Unsung” below as they recalled the day that changed Pooh’s life and the group forever.
Marcus Sanders of Hi-Five took to Facebook to pay tribute to his dear friend by sharing a photo of Roderick along with a funny video that showed his infectious personality.
The caption read:

Angela Garcia-Shelby, who was the girlfriend of the late Tony Thompson, also took to Facebook to pay tribute to Pooh, writing:
Roderick “Pooh” Clark, thru all your life’s struggles, you fought the good fight and you did it with a smile from ear to ear!
I hate I didn’t call u a few weeks ago when I told myself to! But, you always kept me on the phone for almost 2 hrs when we talked, and there was no cutting u off! Lol!
We had some amazing phone conversations in the past and some great visits when I came thru Waco!
I’ll cherish them forever! I love u Pooh and you’ll forever be my big brother!
No more wheelchair, bro! Now, WINGS!!! RIP! #HiFive#original

My sincerest condolences and prayers to all who knew and loved Roderick dearly.
May he rest in paradise.
