Kevin Ford, who works as a cook/cashier at the Burger King at Las Vegas airport, recently received a trifling goodie bag filled with items that looked like they had been left around an office for his 27 years of service.
Kevin, who is 54 years old, said he never missed a day of work, and he never called out.
HMS Host, the company BK hires from, sent Kevin the goodie bag to celebrate his 27th anniversary.
The goodie bag contained one movie ticket, a bag of Reese’s, two writing pens, a Starbucks cup, a lanyard, a couple of keychains, and two packs of Lifesavers.
The video of Kevin showing the items he received in his goodie bag went viral and the way he blended his gratitude with sarcasm was epic.

HMS Host should be ashamed of themselves.
A spokesperson from BK released the following statement:
The Burger King brand and its many franchisees nationwide are committed to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of the thousands of people serving across a wide range of roles — all dedicated to providing our Guests a world-class experience.
Following review with this location’s franchisee, we’ve learned that this video depicts a Team Member in receipt of a peer-to-peer reward in recognition of a short-term positive performance/experience.
The franchisee offers its Team Members a robust employee recognition program, which includes the recognition of tenure milestones and monetary awards.
It’s funny how Kevin stated that the goodie bag was to recognize his years of service, but the BK spokesperson says it was “in receipt of a peer-to-peer reward in recognition of a short-term positive performance/experience.”
Although the contents of the goodie bag didn’t amount too much monetarily, Kevin’s daughter lifted his spirits by starting a GoFundMe fundraiser for him to visit his grandkids in Texas.
Kevin recently expressed genuine gratitude for the trifling goodie bag even though he expected a lot more, and he got emotional talking about his daughter’s nice gesture to show him that he is appreciated.

So glad his gofundme has done good. I’d like to know why he isn’t a manager with that kind of time on the job.
Short term experience? This man has been working for Burger King 27 years faithfully. Y’all should have presented him with a nice bonus check for his work ethic and loyalty. Stop being so damn cheap. Y’all make millions of not billions. That’s the best y’all could do? Do better.
Thank You All So Very Much!!! I Love Yawl!! God Bless You and Yours… #Kevin27YearsBK #KevinFord
