‘Seven Snipers’ Review: This Action Thriller Sent My Anxiety Through The Roof

My "Seven Snipers" review breaks down the action, performances, and whether this intense thriller starring Radha Mitchell is worth your time.

I knew “Seven Snipers” was my kind of movie the moment I saw the title.

Snipers? Plural? Say less.

At this point, I think I may have been a special operative in another life because I will stop everything to watch a movie about elite snipers.

While the film takes a little time to find its footing, once the action kicks in, “Seven Snipers” becomes a tense, blood-soaked ride that had my anxiety working overtime.

Now available on Digital, the Australian action thriller stars Radha Mitchell, Annabel Wolfe, and Tim Roth.

The Setup

Voodoo Child (Radha Mitchell) is a retired elite sniper living a peaceful life off the grid with her teenage daughter in the Australian countryside.

That peace is shattered when a ruthless warlord from her past, played by Tim Roth, comes looking for revenge.

Knowing what’s headed her way, Voodoo Child calls in her former crew for backup and just like that, we have seven snipers.

When The Shizznit Hits The Fan

I’ll be honest. The first act had me a little nervous.

The storytelling felt uneven, and I wasn’t completely sold on where things were headed.

The setup could have been tighter, and there were moments when I wanted the film to get to the action a little faster.

But the second Voodoo Child’s old crew showed up?

Everything changed.

The shizznit officially hit the fan.

From that point forward, I was locked and loaded with an infrared beam.

The tension ramps up, the action hits harder, and the film finally delivers the adrenaline rush I came for.

Director Sandra Sciberras keeps the pressure on as the crew prepares for an all-out showdown, and once the bullets start flying, the movie rarely lets up.

Not For The Squeamish

Let me go ahead and warn you now.

If precision shooting, direct headshots, blood, and guts aren’t your thing, you may want to sit this one out.

“Seven Snipers earns its R rating.

The film doesn’t hold back when it comes to violence, and some of the action sequences are brutal.

For me, that intensity raised the stakes and made the danger feel real.

But if you’re sensitive to graphic violence, consider yourself warned.

Is ‘Seven Snipers’ Worth The Watch?

“Seven Snipers” isn’t a perfect film, but it absolutely delivers where it counts.

Strong performances from Radha Mitchell and Tim Roth, plenty of tension, and enough sniper action to keep genre fans happy make this an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys gritty action thrillers.

If you’re like me and were clearly a special operative in another Marvel Universe timeline, there’s a good chance you’ll have a blast with this one.

My Rating: 3.5 Out Of 5 Scoops
