“Cross” Season 2 is about to have everyone talking when it premieres on February 11 on Prime Video, and after watching the full season and sitting down with Aldis Hodge and Matthew Lillard, I can see why.
The Prime Video crime drama, based on James Patterson’s iconic character, follows Alex Cross, a homicide detective and forensic psychologist who can step inside the minds of killers.
‘Cross’ Season 2

Season 2 pushes Cross into a dangerous pursuit of a vigilante targeting corrupt billionaire elites, and the themes feel strikingly close to real life.
When I spoke with Aldis Hodge, I congratulated him on how Season 2 tightened the grip after a strong first season.
His response was grounded and heartfelt.
“You know, honestly, it means everything,” Aldis told me. “I’m honestly very surprised still to this day. I’m very grateful… you gotta really cherish what that is.”
You can feel that gratitude in how seriously he takes the role.
Alex Cross feels layered, focused, and deeply human.
Matthew Lillard also opened up about how shockingly timely this season feels.

Even he is surprised by how closely the story mirrors the world we are living in.
“What you see when you sit in episode one, you’ll be like they shot that last week,” he said, explaining that the season was filmed long before current headlines.
He added that viewers will see the world reflected back at them and have to decide what is right and wrong.
That moral gray area is part of what makes this season linger with you.
The cast this season includes Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, Johnny Ray Gill, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham.
