According to reports, Britney Spears was arrested late Wednesday in Ventura County, California, after being pulled over by the California Highway Patrol around 9:30 p.m. PT.
Multiple outlets, including TMZ, report that the singer was taken into custody and booked around 3 a.m. Thursday morning.
She was later released under a “cite and release” just after 6 a.m.
Her vehicle was reportedly towed and remains in an impound lot.
While the Ventura County Sheriff’s report does not list an official reason for the arrest, several outlets are reporting that Britney is suspected of driving under the influence.
Britney Spears is scheduled to appear in Ventura County Superior Court on May 4.
