When I asked him to describe his character, he shared that Detective Troy is a man fully immersed in proving himself on the job.
“He’s a brand new detective just trying to make sure that he makes the right moves… you get a chance to see him encounter the things that he may have neglected.”
I loved the balance of intrigue and heart in this film, and I cannot wait for my ICC Frens to dive into the mystery with Troy.

A Holiday Tradition That’ll Put Your Oreos To Shame
When I asked about his family’s Christmas traditions, Tristan lit up instantly.
Turns out, he can bake. And not just “I whip up brownies sometimes” bake.
“I bake,” he said before revealing his specialty. “My specialty… always carrot cake. Everything made from scratch.”
But the sweetest part is his tradition with his daughter.
Every year before Christmas, they pick a cookie recipe and bake together.
“Last year we made snickerdoodle ginger snap cookies. It was nuts.”
Meanwhile, I’m over here buying Oreos. He had me ready to retire my whole cookie game.

One of y’all told me I had to ask him this. And he delivered.
He shared that fatherhood and married life shifted his musical inspiration, but something has been stirring lately.
“For some reason as of late, I’ve been very itchy… I’ve been writing again. I have a whole lot that I wanna write about… my city, being a dad, being a husband.”
Then he teased new work with producers like DJ Camper and Key Wane. “It sounds good,” he said with a grin.

Before we wrapped, I shared with Tristan that I actually worked with his wife, Christina, years ago when she was doing publicity.
Life is so beautifully strange sometimes, and we both had a moment over how small the world really is.
