CBS has just revealed the first cast members of its groundbreaking new series, “Beyond the Gates.”
This show marks a historic moment as the first Black one-hour daytime drama to air on television, produced through the CBS Studios and NAACP Venture collaboration.
Headlining the cast are three powerful women—Tamara Tunie, Daphnee Duplaix, and Karla Mosley—who take on the roles of key members of the prestigious Dupree family.
Set to begin production this fall in Atlanta and premiering on CBS in early 2025, “Beyond the Gates” promises a mix of family drama, power struggles, and hidden secrets, all set against the backdrop of an affluent, predominantly African American community just outside Washington, D.C.
Tamara Tunie
Tamara Tunie stars as Anita Dupree, the glamorous matriarch of the family.
Once a famous singer, Anita is a woman of grace and determination, having built her career from humble beginnings in Chicago.
Despite her polished exterior, there’s a toughness that comes from her early struggles.
Tunie brings a wealth of experience to the role, having starred for years on “As the World Turns” and with a 23-season run on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” as Dr. Melinda Warner.
Daphnee Duplaix
Daphnee Duplaix joins the cast as Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, Anita’s eldest daughter.
Nicole is a philanthropist and psychiatrist with a warm, compassionate nature.
On the surface, she seems to have the perfect life—successful career, ideal marriage—but it may not be as flawless as it seems.
Duplaix, known for her award-nominated role as Rachel Gannon on “One Life to Live,” brings depth to this complex character.
Karla Mosley
Karla Mosley stars as Dani Dupree, Anita’s free-spirited younger daughter and former model.
Once the wild child of the family, Dani left school to chase her modeling dreams but now manages her own family, serving as a “momager” to her children.
Mosley, celebrated for her role as Maya Avant Forrester on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” adds her talent to the layered portrayal of Dani.
About ‘Beyond The Gates’

While the setting may seem serene, the show promises juicy secrets and scandals brewing beneath the surface.
