Talk Show Legend Phil Donahue Passes Away At 88

Legendary talk show host Phil Donahue, the trailblazer who redefined daytime television with “The Phil Donahue Show,” has passed away at the age of 88.

Donahue died peacefully at home on Sunday night after a long illness, surrounded by his wife, Marlo Thomas, and close family members.

Donahue, born on December 21, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, revolutionized television by tackling controversial social issues and connecting deeply with his audience.

His empathetic interviewing style earned him 20 Emmy Awards and widespread acclaim.

In a touching moment, just three months before his passing, Donahue was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden.
