The man suspected of fatally shooting Houston rapper Chucky Trill on Interstate 85 in March, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

James Edwards Thomas was arrested on charges of malice murder and aggravated assault in the death of Chucky Trill, whose real name is Corey Detiege

Thomas was taken into custody as he exited the plane.

He was booked into Gwinnett County Jail without bond.

On March 5, Gwinnett County officers responded to a shooting on the southbound Interstate 85 around 3 a.m.

Upon arrival, they found the 33-year-old rapper shot at least once inside a stopped vehicle.

He was transported to a local hospital where he died.

It’s unclear if or why Chucky was targeted.
