Samantha Sloyan also looks perfectly cast as Carrie’s strict and unsettling mother.
What stood out to me most is how naturally this story fits into today’s world.
Social media adds another layer to Carrie’s isolation, making the bullying feel even more personal and impossible to escape.
Mike Flanagan has built a reputation for telling emotional horror stories, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he does with one of Stephen King’s most iconic characters.

A Horror Classic Worth Revisiting
Long before this series, Carrie terrified audiences when it hit theaters on November 3, 1976.
Directed by Brian De Palma and starring the unforgettable Sissy Spacek, it’s still considered one of the greatest Stephen King adaptations ever made.
If you’ve never seen the original film, I highly recommend adding it to your watchlist before the series premieres.
