It’s with a heavy heart that I report Bert Belasco, star of BET‘s hit comedy series, “Let’s Stay Together,” has passed away at 38.

Bert was found on Sunday in a Richmond, Virginia hotel room where he was quarantining before beginning a new movie role.

When Bert’s girlfriend couldn’t get in touch with them, she asked hotel staff to check on him. Sadly, it was the worst outcome imaginable.

Bert’s father, Bert Sr. says he believes he son suffered a fatal aneurysm.

RonReaco Lee, who co-starred in “Let’s Stay Together” took to social media to remember his friend.

He wrote:

Beyond saddened by the sudden passing of Bert Belasco. One of the kindest people I’ve ever met. If you knew Bert, you knew 2 things: He loved the movie Ghostbusters and he LOVED acting. Bert loved acting more than any actor I’ve ever met. And he was DAMN good at it too. There wasn’t a scene we shared that I didn’t enjoy. My prayers are with his Dad, his Step Mom and the rest of his family and friends. Rest well my Brother…certainly gone too soon. #castmates4life
