What Is ‘Are They Gone Yet?’ About?
While story details are still being kept under wraps, the film will find Nick entering a new phase of life as a grandfather.
If you’ve watched the previous films, you already know that Nick has a way of finding himself in chaotic situations, whether he’s surviving a road trip with two kids or tackling a fixer-upper home.
Something tells me grandparenthood won’t be any easier.
Ice Cube shared his excitement about revisiting the franchise and introducing the characters to a new generation of viewers.
“We built something special with this franchise. Audiences grew up with Nick Persons, and now Nick’s got grandkids. Time flies.”
The original “Are We There Yet?” premiered in 2005 and opened at No. 1 at the domestic box office.
The film became a fan favorite and spawned the 2007 sequel “Are We Done Yet?“.
The franchise later expanded to television with the TBS sitcom “Are We There Yet?“, which starred Terry Crews and ran for four seasons.
“Are They Gone Yet?“ is being written by Chris Hazzard and Mike Fontana and produced by Broken Road and CubeVision, with Ice Cube, Todd Garner, and Jeff Kwatinetz serving as producers.
Additional casting announcements, production details, and a release date for “Are They Gone Yet?“ will be announced at a later date.
