It’s with a heavy heart that I report Archie Eversole, the Atlanta rapper who recorded the timeless anthem, “We Ready,” has died.
According to DeKalb County police, Archie was shot on March 25 on Golf Vista Circle.
Officers responded to a Chevron last station on Snapfinger Woods Drive where they found the rapper suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries on April 3.
Investigators say, Archie Eversole’s brother, Alexander Kraus, shot him.
Kraus was arrested after the shooting and charged with aggravated assault.
His charges were upgraded to murder after Archie died.
The Atlanta United soccer club released the following statement after learning of Archie Eversole’s death:
We are heartbroken to hear of the tragic passing of Archie Eversole. A staple in the Atlanta hip-hop scene, Archie adopted Atlanta United before our first season and continued to be one of our club’s most fervent supporters.
In addition to his decorated musical career, his voice will long live in our supporters’ minds as ‘We Ready’ billows through the speakers for kick-off at Atlanta United matches.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.
Archie had a very close relationship with the club and even released a special song for the Atlanta United in 2018.
Another life lost to a senseless act of violence.
My condolences and prayers go out to Archie’s family as they mourn his loss and try to heal from this horrible tragedy.
