Whew, chile! “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” Season 2 Episode 8 was a lot to digest!
In the episode, titled, “A House is Not A Home,” Raq steps to Paloma aka “Roberta Kelly” to let her know her “12 Play” days with Kanan are over unless she’s willing to meet Uncle Charles at the crossroads.
Scrap’s mother pulls up on Kanan to let him know she doesn’t believe for one second that her son took his own life and Raq better step up to find out who is responsible for his death or she will take matters into her own hands.
Meanwhile, the distance between Kanan and Raq continues to stregthen as his trust in her weakens.
His cougar is done with him, he’s suspicious about what really happened to Scrap, and he’s walking around with his “daddy test” in his bookbag trying to digest the truth about his father and why his mother tried to manipulate him into killing him.
Jukebox’s dreams of a loving mother/daughter relationship were shattered when Kenya ambushed her with conversion therapy to beat and pray the gay away.
While Marvin appears to have made strides with Juke in the aftermath of her mother’s actions, the sidejob he sent the Italians on turned into a bonfire that has burned Raq’s business relationship with Sal to the ground.
Lou’s music business ambitions and his pumps in a bump relationship with Bidi-Bidi-Bom-Bom has led him to writing check his @ss can’t cash and a Crown he doesn’t want on his head.
