Days after filing a $1 million lawsuit for extortion against his accuser, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott faces a sexual assault investigation.

On Monday, March 11, Dak filed a $1 million lawsuit in Collin County, Texas, alleging that a woman attempted to extort $100 million from him by accusing him of sexual assault in 2017, following his rookie season.

The 11-page lawsuit also claims defamation, slander, defamation per se, business disparagement, tortious interference with current or potential business relations, civil conspiracy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In January, Prescott’s representatives received a letter from the woman’s legal team, alleging that Prescott sexually assaulted her in February 2017, after his rookie season with the Dallas Cowboys, according to the lawsuit.

The woman requested $100 million in exchange for foregoing pressing criminal charges and going public with the allegations.

The letter, from the accuser and her legal team stated:

Despite the tragic events, she is willing to forego pursuing criminal charges, along with disclosing this information to the public, in exchange for compensating her for the mental anguish she has suffered.

(The alleged victim’s) damages are valued at the sum of $100,000,000.00.

Dak Prescott’s attorney, Levi McCathern, said in a statement:

Mr. Prescott — a new father to a baby girl — has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault.

He fervently believes that all perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual, sexual conduct with anyone.

Lies hurt. Especially, malicious lies.

We will not allow the defendant and her legal team to profit from this attempt to extort millions from Mr. Prescott.

Dallas Police Launch Sexual Assault Investigation

As promised, Dak Prescott’s accuser filed a complaint on Wednesday, March 13, alleging he sexually assaulted her in the back of an SUV in 2017 outside XTC Cabaret.

The defendant didn’t work at the Dallas club and she did not file a police report at the time of the alleged assault.

On Thursday, March 14, Dallas police confirmed they are investigating an alleged 2017 sexual assault involving Dak Prescott.

The accuser’s attorney isn’t backing down.

In a statement to The Washington Post, Bethel Zehaie said:

Dak and his lawyers are trying to be bullies and play hardball and victim blame.

We are not afraid of the truth. Dak needs to be held accountable for his behavior.

We are not afraid of him or his legal team.
