Faith Evans and Stevie J‘s divorce is still moving forward.
If you’re confused…no worries…I am too!
I previously reported Stevie J filed for divorce days after his 50th birthday.
Then, he and Faith were on the beach doing cartwheels and paying dust to the headlines like it was all good between them.
That’s when the video of Stevie berating Faith and accusing her of sleeping with other men in their home was leaked.
A week later, Stevie issued a public apology to his wife and their family for his actions in the video.
We’ve now learned that Stevie J asked for spousal support in his divorce filing and Faith is not trying to hear it.
The R&B singer filed court docs in early December asking a judge to deny Stevie’s ability to collect spousal support.
It’s unclear if the Jordans had a prenuptial agreement in place, but Faith is asking for all property acquired prior to marriage, by gift, inheritance, or devise, and after the date of separation.”
Faith noted that the exact nature of such assets and debts are not yet fully known, but she will happily amend her petition at the time of trial.
Here’s where things get even weirder…
In his divorce filing, Stevie claims the couple separated on October 19, 2021.
But, Faith Evans says she and Stevie have been separated since May 29, 2020.
Now, that’s quite a contrast in dates.
If there is no prenup in place, any money earned prior to the date of separation will be split 50/50 according to California law.
That may be why Faith pushed that date back.
Whew, chile. Unfortunately, I can’t say that I’m surprised by any of this.
