Watch The ‘Disclosure Day’ Trailer

The film follows everyday citizens racing against the government to reveal a shocking truth to the world: we are not alone, and contact with extraterrestrial life has already been made.

It’s a fascinating premise, but what hooked me wasn’t the aliens. It was the people.

Emily Blunt is absolutely phenomenal as Margaret Fairchild.

She brings so much heart, strength, and vulnerability to the role that I completely lost myself in her performance.

Josh O’Connor is equally impressive, and every scene he shares with Emily Blunt is electric. Their chemistry kept me locked in from beginning to end.

Eve Hewson delivers a strong performance, and you already know I settled comfortably into my seat the moment Colman Domingo showed up on screen.

At this point, I don’t think I need to tell you that when it comes to extraterrestrials and emotional storytelling, Steven Spielberg isn’t new to this. He’s true to this.

The cinematography is stunning, and several POV shots pulled me directly into the action.

There was one scene that hit me so quickly in the feels that I didn’t even realize tears were forming before they were streaming down my face.

Now, I won’t pretend the film is perfect.

At 2 hours and 25 minutes, there were definitely a few moments that could have stayed on the editing room floor.

The first act is also a slow burn.

But once the story finds its rhythm, it delivers.

Suspense. Drama. Emotion. Love. Action.

Disclosure Day checks every box.

If you’re looking for a smart sci-fi thriller with incredible performances and plenty of heart, this one deserves a spot on your watchlist.

After watching Disclosure Day, I would be surprised if this film isn’t part of the Best Picture conversation when awards season rolls around.

Frens, drop down in the comments and let me know: Will you be watching Disclosure Day when it arrives in theaters on June 12?

And perhaps the bigger question… do you believe we are truly not alone?
