It’s with a heavy heart that I report David A. Arnold passed away on Wednesday, September 7.
He was 54.
The Arnold family issued the following statement confirming his passing.
It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold.
David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes.
Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time, as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss.
David A. Arnold is survived by his wife, Julie L. Harkness, and two children, Anna-Grace and Ashlyn.
Who Is David A. Arnold?
According to his official bio, David A. Arnold is a 20-year stand-up comedy veteran hailing from Cleveland, Ohio.
He made his living performing, acting, and writing for TV and film.
David has produced several TV shows including “Fuller House” on Netflix and “Bigger” on BET+.
He recently added showrunner and creator to his growing list of accomplishments by creating the hit Nickelodeon show, “That Girl Lay Lay.”
David has two Netflix specials, “Fat Ballerina” and “It Ain’t For The Weak,” produced by Kevin Hart, currently streaming.
At the time of his sudden death, David A. Arnold was just three stops into his four-month “Pace Ya Self” national comedy tour.

His best friend, Chris Spencer, released the following statement:
Our closely knit comedy community mourns the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it.
He was admired by his peers, respected by other veterans, and looked up to by the burgeoning comedians that he mentored.
He will be deeply missed, especially by his comedy fraternity.
