The Cleveland Browns have released Odell Beckham Jr. and ironically it went down on his birthday.

EVP and GM Andrew Berry released the following statement on Friday (November 5):

After careful consideration, internal discussions and conversations with Odell and his representation, we’ve determined that is is in the best interest of all parties involved that Odell no longer play for the Cleveland Browns.

We appreciate all his efforts and contributions while in Clevland, but we’ve just reached a point where it is best that we move forward as a team without Odell.

We are finalizing the process of granting Odell his release and we wish him well as he continues his career.

Odell Beckham Jr. has not publicly commented on being released from the team, but he was prepared for whatever was coming his way.

OBJ tweeted in September:

God. I wanna take this time to thank u in advance for what’s about to come.

Happiest Birthday to OBJ and I wish him the best in all of his future endeavors.
