Clifton Powell is set to portray David “Pop” Winans, the patriarch of the Winans Family dynasty, in the upcoming limited film series “Thankful.”
Powell, known for his memorable roles in the Academy Award-winning film “Ray” alongside Jamie Foxx, portraying Martin Luther King Jr. in “Selma Lord Selma,” and starring in television series such as “The Family Business,” “Sacrifice,” and “Saints & Sinners,” continues to shine in his illustrious career.
He will also appear in the new limited series “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist” with Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, Taraji P. Henson, and Kevin Hart, coming in 2024.
A Talented Producer & Actor
In addition to starring in “Thankful,” Clifton Powell will also produce the ten-episode, seven-part limited series.
He is collaborating with three award-winning directors, whose names will be announced soon.
With more than 100 films and television series to his credit and numerous awards for his performances both in front of and behind the camera, Powell is set to bring unique depth and authenticity to this project.

Clifton Powell Jr. will also play a significant role.
