CBS is locking in more Friday night heat! The network just renewed “Sheriff Country” and “Boston Blue” for Season 2, and Frens, these shows are clearly eating because viewers cannot get enough.
The renewals come after both series delivered impressive ratings across broadcast and streaming, turning Friday nights into a certified CBS takeover.

That is a whole 33 percent boost over what S W A T averaged in the same time slot, and the show has been winning its hour every single week.
The series follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she tries to keep the peace in small town Edgewater, California while juggling complicated family dynamics.
It stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham, and Michele Weaver, with executive producers Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, Matt Lopez, Jerry Bruckheimer, and KristieAnne Reed.
CBS Studios produces the series and clearly saw the vision because this renewal came early and proud.
‘Boston Blue’ Earns A Season 2 Pickup After Dominating Fridays
“Boston Blue” is also coming back for another round in 2026 to 2027.
The police drama is averaging 8 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7 day multiplatform ratings, and streaming is up an impressive 87 percent over “Blue Bloods” last fall.
The show is also the consistent winner at 10 PM Fridays.
The series follows Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston Police Department and teams up with Detective Lena Silver.
The cast includes Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Gloria Reuben, Maggie Lawson, Marcus Scribner, Mika Amonsen, and Ernie Hudson.
