It’s with a heavy heart that I report Todd Bridges has suffered the loss of his mother, Betty A. Bridges.
The actress, who guest-starred on several hit shows like “Good Times,” “Diff’rent Strokes,” “Sister, Sister,” and “2 Broke Girls,” transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 29.
Betty was in hospice care at Todd Bridges’ Phoenix home when she passed away.
Todd took to social media to honor his mother with a tribute post that included a beautiful photo of her smiling.
The caption read, “1941-2024 Betty Bridges.”
According to Deadline, Betty was more than just a Hollywood manager and acting coach—she was a force in the industry.
She co-founded Kane Bridge Academy, an acting school, but her dedication didn’t stop there. Betty took her passion home, literally, running classes from her Los Angeles home and even offering free lessons to kids in the neighborhood.
Big names like Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan, and the King sisters, Regina and Reina, all trained under her guidance.
Betty leaves behind a legacy that includes her son Todd and his wife Bettijo Bridges, her sons Jimmy Bridges and Zerondrick Hubbard, her daughter Verda Bridges Prpich, and 12 grandchildren, according to Deadline.
My sincerest condolences and prayers to the Bridges family.
