Woman Arrested For Assaulting, Hospitalizing Southwest Airlines Employee

A woman has been charged with aggravated assault after she allegedly punched a Southwest Airlines employee in the head on Saturday (November 13).

According to the Dallas Police Department, Arielle Jean Jackson, 32, boarded the flight headed to New York’s LaGuardia Airport around 12:40 p.m.

At some point Arielle got into a verbal altercation with a staff member and was asked to exit the plane. 

As she was leaving, Arielle began arguing with another Southwest Airlines employee.

At some point during the verbal altercation, Arielle Jean Jackson allegedly punched the employee in the head with a closed fist. 

Arielle was taken into custody and the Southwest employee was taken to the hospital. 

The employee was released later that night and is at home rest.

Southwest Airlines spokesperson Chris Mainz said:

Our entire Southwest family is wishing her a speedy and full recovery as we send our thoughts, prayers and love to her.

Southwest Airlines maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding any type of harassment or assault and fully support our employee as we cooperate with local authorities regarding this unacceptable incident.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
