Wanda Durant, also known as Mama Durant, took to her IG account to praise her son Kevin Durant for his epic triple-double performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals playoff series.
Mama Durant posted a picture of her son giving his acceptance speech for his 2014 MVP award along with the caption, “NO… YOU THE REAL MVP!”
The significance of Mama Durant’s caption is during KD’s 2014 MVP acceptance speech he shouted out Mama Durant as “THE REAL MVP!”

Tuesday night (6/15/2021) KD suited up for the Brooklyn Nets to play Game 5 against the Milwaukee Bucks, and although the Nets have been favored to win the Championship this year the odds were stacked against KD because his two superstar teammates James Harden and Kyrie Irving were injured and not expected to play.
James Harden decided to give it a go despite his injury, but he was only able to produce 5 points.
It was the 37 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists from KD that led the Brooklyn Nets to victory and gave them a 3-2 lead in the series.
Many sports analyst have called the game the best playoff performance they’ve ever seen from KD, and I would have to agree off of efficiency alone.
KD made 16 out of the 23 shots he took nearly a 70% field goal percentage for the entire game… that is insane!
With that being said, Mama Durant was right, KD is “THE REAL MVP!”
