The Weeknd believes the Grammy board snubbed him because he chose to perform at the Super Bowl LV Halftime Show instead of the Grammy Awards Show.

His camp claimed the Grammys gave them an ultimatum… us or Super Bowl LV.

Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy’s interim President, and CEO denied the claim and insisted there was nothing corrupt about the singer not being nominated.

The Weeknd said on Thursday he’s boycotting the awards show from now on “because of the secret committees.”

The singer has previously won three Grammys, and his latest album, After Hours, was his fourth number one album and the biggest album of the first half of 2020 with 1.3 million album units in the U.S.
