Frens, Steven Spielberg is officially back in his extraterrestrial bag. Universal Pictures has dropped the first teaser trailer for Disclosure Day, and let me tell you, this one is already giving global panic, existential dread, and classic Spielberg wonder all rolled into one chilling tease.
Set to hit theaters on June 12, 2026, Disclosure Day marks Spielberg’s return to the alien invasion territory he mastered with Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., and War of the Worlds.
And yes, the vibes are very much “something is happening and nobody is okay.”
👽 What’s Going On In The Trailer?
The teaser wastes no time unsettling us.
We see Emily Blunt as a weather reporter who is very much not holding it together, appearing to be overtaken by some mysterious foreign entity.
As the world begins to unravel, strange behavior spreads everywhere. Animals react. Nuns react.
Honestly, if the nuns are alarmed, I’m already packing a go bag.
A haunting voice asks the question that sets the tone for the entire film:
If you found out we weren’t alone, if someone showed you, proved it to you, would that frighten you?
Chills. Actual chills.
The tagline seals it: “This summer, the truth belongs to seven billion people.”
We are coming close to… Disclosure Day.

🎬 A Heavyweight Cast And Creative Dream Team
The film boasts an impressive ensemble, including Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo.
That lineup alone should have you seated early with popcorn in hand.
Behind the scenes, Spielberg reunites with longtime collaborator David Koepp, who penned the screenplay based on a story by Spielberg himself.
Their previous collaborations include Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, with those films collectively earning more than $3 billion worldwide.
Safe to say, this duo knows how to deliver an event movie.
Disclosure Day is produced by Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg for Amblin Entertainment, with executive producers Adam Somner and Chris Brigham.
🌍 Why This Feels Like A Moment
Spielberg has always had a way of using spectacle to explore humanity’s biggest fears and biggest hopes.
From alien contact to global reckoning, “Disclosure Day” feels like it’s aiming to ask not just what’s out there, but how we respond when the truth can no longer be hidden.
If this teaser is any indication, we are in for a thoughtful, terrifying, and emotionally charged ride.
🎥 Watch the teaser trailer now and tell me… would you want to know the truth if we weren’t alone?
