Soulja Boy, the rapper known for hits like “Crank That,” is taking legal action against social media personalities Tasha K and William The Baddest.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles court, alleges that the pair made defamatory statements about Soulja Boy (DeAndre Cortez Way) during a May interview on Tasha K’s celebrity gossip podcast.

According to the lawsuit, William recounted explicit and false details of an alleged sexual encounter with the rapper.

Soulja Boy’s legal team claims that these false statements have caused significant harm to his reputation and career.

“Plaintiff has suffered actual reputational and professional harm as a result of defendants maliciously targeting plaintiff and seeking to sabotage his careers, redefining his character as a man who is not straight, a fraud and dishonest person in the entertainment industry, as a public figure, which is not true,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit highlights the damage caused by the interview, with Soulja Boy’s lawyers emphasizing the impact on his fanbase.

“These statements have brought embarrassment and disgrace that can cause fans to abandon and withdraw from supporting him,” they argue.

In the controversial interview, William (William Thomas) provided explicit details about an alleged tryst with the rapper, saying, “So I walked over there, I get on my knee, he’s sitting on the edge of his bed. I started giving him oral, it’s a big thang and it grew, you know to the left.”

Although the video has since been removed from Tasha’s YouTube channel, the damage appears to have been done.

Soulja Boy’s lawyers also allege that William has continued to harass and torment the rapper on social media, including posting a photoshopped image that purports to show an intimate moment between the two.

This image, which William allegedly used to promote his OnlyFans page, has further fueled the controversy.

The lawsuit references a cease and desist letter sent by Soulja Boy’s attorneys to both Tasha K and William, demanding that they delete the “false, malicious and completely outrageous” statements.

The letter warned that their actions had already caused damage entitling Soulja Boy to monetary damages and that continued defamation would increase their liability.

Soulja Boy previously took to social media and announced his plans to take legal action.

This isn’t Tasha K’s first brush with defamation lawsuits.

In 2022, she lost a nearly $4 million defamation case to Cardi B over false claims about drug use, STDs, and prostitution.

Despite attempts to use Chapter 11 bankruptcy to avoid paying the judgment, a judge rejected Tasha’s efforts last year.

As of now, neither William nor an attorney for Tasha K has responded to requests for comment on the latest lawsuit.

In addition to Soulja Boy’s lawsuit, Kevin Hart is also suing Tasha K for defamation.
