Frens, my favorite Queen of Comedy is back and she did not come to play. Sommore just dropped her new Netflix stand-up special, “Chandelier Fly,” and if you love bold, unfiltered comedy, this one is for you.

Filmed at the Garden Theater in Detroit, Michigan, “Chandelier Fly” is Sommore’s second special for Netflix following 2023’s “Queen Chandelier.”

This time, she dives into everything from untimely death and celebrity scandals to cell phone companies that seem a little too deep in our business.

And the way she breaks it all down? Classic Sommore. Sharp, fearless, and laugh-out-loud funny.

Sommore Has Been That Girl In Comedy

Sommore has been doing stand-up since 1995, and her legacy is real.

She was the first female host of BET’s “ComicView” and one of the iconic headliners on The Queens of Comedy tour alongside Laura Hayes, Adele Givens, and Mo’Nique.

That alone stamped her place in comedy history.

But she didn’t stop there. She’s also an actress, writer, executive producer, entrepreneur, and host.

The self-proclaimed “Chandelier” has written, produced, and performed in multiple one-woman specials like “The Queen Stands Alone,” “Chandelier Status,” “The Reign Continues,” and “A Queen with No Spades.”

She even created space for other comics with BET’s “All the Queen’s Men.”

You’ve also seen her on your screen in films like Friday After NextSoul Plane, and Something New, plus shows like “The Parkers” and “The Hughleys.”

Sis has been working.

“Chandelier Fly” is directed by Kevin Layne, with Sommore executive producing alongside Wayne B. Baxley.

She also wrote and performed the special, which makes it feel even more personal and true to her voice.

What I really love is that Sommore doesn’t chase trends.

She stays true to who she is, and the audience comes to her.

That confidence only comes from years in the game and knowing your worth.

If you’re in the mood for real laughs and real talk, this special is worth adding to your watchlist.
