‘Ice Cream Man’ Trailer Turns Summer Sweetness Into Horror

Official poster for the horror film "Ice Cream Man" directed by Eli Roth.

If you grew up sprinting toward the ice cream truck every summer, the new trailer for “Ice Cream Man” might unlock a brand-new fear.

The upcoming horror film from Eli Roth just dropped its first trailer, and it takes one of the sweetest parts of childhood and turns it into something downright terrifying.

What To Know

  • In Theaters: August 7, 2026
  • Directed By: Eli Roth
  • Written By: Eli Roth and Noah Belson
  • Executive Producer: Nas
  • Original Music By: Snoop Dogg and Brandon Roberts

And before anyone gets confused, this is not a remake or reimagining of the 1995 film of the same name.

What Is “Ice Cream Man” About?

According to the official synopsis, an idyllic summer town descends into madness when an ice cream man serves children sweet treats with horrifying results.

That’s a premise that immediately grabbed my attention.

The trailer keeps many of its secrets under wraps, but it delivers enough creepy imagery and unsettling moments to make it clear that something is very wrong in this seemingly perfect town.

If you’re a fan of horror movies that take familiar everyday experiences and twist them into nightmares, this one should be on your radar.

The film stars Ari Millen, Benjamin Byron Davis, Karen Cliche, Dylan Hawco, Sarah Abbott, Shiloh O’Reilly, Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer, Charlie Storey, and Eli Roth.

Between the chilling concept, the eerie atmosphere, and the mystery surrounding the ice cream man himself, I’m definitely curious to see where this story goes when it arrives in theaters.

Will you be checking this one out when it arrives in theaters on August 7?
