Jordan Peele‘s newest theatrical offering, NOPE, opens in theaters this Friday, July 22, and the first reviews and reactions to the film have arrived!
The most intriguing thing about the film is that the plot has been kept under wraps.
So all you can do is try to draw your best conclusions and assumptions based on the trailer.
Advanced screenings of the film, starring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun, took place across the U.S. in cities including New York and Atlanta.
Based on the first reactions and reviews of the film, I will be front and center in the theater on Friday!
Beanz, a New York media personality and celebrity photographer, took to Twitter writing, “Okay, #NopeMovie was brilliant. No one wasted any screen time. The twist *chef’s kiss* Go see it immediately before Twitter ruins it.”
He added, “I’m gonna have to sit with this one again cause I am still processing what the hell I just watched.”
Popcorn & Tequila editor-in-chief, Shaye Wyllie, shared her first reactions to the film tweeting, “Y’all, #Nope is a lot to process! I keep wanting it to be in the same realm as #US but NOPE, it’s not! So let me answer a few pressing questions while y’all wait for my thoughts. Do you HAVE to see the #NopeMovie? YUP! Will you GET the @nopemovie? NOPE! ??♀️? But get ready anyway!”
She added, “Is it intriguing? ABSOLUTELY! Is it frustrating? Just a little. Is it scary? NOPE! You can watch this! I promise! I told y’all the trailer wasn’t gonna be what we thought it was gonna be! So YES see the #NopeMovie when it releases. Read this again! ?”
