Mendeecees Harris revealed that he put his mom up for collateral while hustling on the streets during a moment of reflection on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast.
Prior to the reveal, Shannon Sharpe jokingly compared Mendeecees to El Chapo in response to him stating that he went to jail for five years on a conspiracy charge to move keys from New York City to Rochester.
Mendeecees, who is married to Yandy Smith-Harris, quickly let Shannon know that he was nowhere near El Chapo level, but that he did have some crazy stories.
But, I got some crazy stories about, um, you know, ah, I remember one time I was dealing with a connect, and this going to sound horrible, but I put my mom up for collateral.
Yeah!… I was getting a bunch of keys, and they was like, ‘Well you gotta show me where your mom live at’ because if you run off on this… We can’t afford for you to run off.
And I was like, I didn’t have no intentions of running off, so I was like, ‘Alright I’ll show you.’
And I took them… And she had no idea, and I took them.
…I think at that point I had good in my heart to do good business so I didn’t think that far…
And I never even told nobody that. When I look back at the decisions I made now, I be like ‘Gah-lee I can’t believe I’m still here.’
The interview was very insightful, Mendeecees talked about how he’s done with street life, and how it’s become his passion to steer people away from that lifestyle.
He also talked about his thriving real estate ventures and his plans to start casting and developing shows.
