Usher Pulls Of An Epic April Fools Joke AT The Dreamville Festival
Instagram

Usher had the Dreamville Festival audience in Raleigh, North Carolina, ready to “eff up the night” on April 1, but it turned out to be an April Fool’s joke.

During his set Usher told the audience:

I don’t know if you guys listened to some of the interviews I did before we decided to do this show, but as promised I said I would have a special surprise for you tonight, ladies and gentlemen.

You guys want to know what that special surprise is?…

Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, put your hands together for the one, the only, Beyoncé!

Of course, the crowd went wild as Usher pointed to the side of the stage as if to signal Beyoncé to come out.

After a few hand gestures and briefly walking toward the side of the stage acting like he was going to see why Bey wasn’t coming out, he returned to the mic, pointed at the audience, and said, “April Fools!”

Usher wasn’t the only recording artist to trick his fans on April 1st.

Soul singer and songwriter Anthony Hamilton sent his fans into a tizzy when he announced his retirement from music.

The next day, he returned to social media to announce it was an April Fool’s Day prank.
