Martin Lawrence star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Wazzup!? Martin Lawrence was honored with a well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 58-year-old legendary comedian and actor received the 2,753rd star in the category of Television on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Comedy icon Steve Harvey and actress Lynn Whitfield, who co-starred with Martin in the classic 1996 film, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate, were guest speakers at the ceremony.

Martin Lawrence was joined by his family and a number of his celebrity friends on his special day. 

Tracy Morgan, Tichina Arnold, Michael Blackmon, Affion Crockett, DeRay Davis, and Benji Brown. 

Tisha Campell took to social media to share her disappointment in not being able to attend due to her filming schedule. 

Wish I could’ve been there couldn’t get off that set but everyone PLEASE congratulate @martinlawrence on his #staronthewalkoffame SOOOOOO DESERVING!

He told those in attendance:

Let me tell you something about this brother right here. This brother is the lick!  He is the reason a lot of us are standing out here today.

If you are in stand-up comedy, if you have held a the mic since the ‘Def Jam’ days you are in a debt of gratitude to this brother right here because this dude was the reason…Martin Lawrence is the reason that ‘Def Jam’ was a huge success. 

Steve went on to say, “This dude’s improv ability is surpassed by none in the business! You’re looking at the coldest mimicker ever born in the comedy industry today and that’s that damn Martin Lawrence right here!”
