Marlon Wayans faces a paternity suit filed by Brittany Moreland concerning their one-year-old daughter, Axl July Ivory Wayans.
Brittany Moreland Files Paternity Suit Against Marlon Wayans
According to court documents, obtained by Radar Online, Brittany is seeking to establish the comedian and actor as the father of her baby girl.
In addition to paternity, Brittany Moreland asked for primary physical and legal custody of the child with visitation rights for Marlon Wayans.
Brittany is also asking that her legal fees and “reasonable expenses of pregnancy and birth” be paid by the Air actor, who she believes earns $200,000 per month.
In court documents, Brittany Moreland, 34, claims her monthly expenses total $21,000 – including $5,000 per month on rent and $9,000 on child care, groceries, and other necessitites.
In September 2022, Brittany, who is a certified sound healer, took to social media to share her maternity photos featuring Marlon Wayans, who posed with his back towards the camera.
She later deleted the photos from her Instagram page.
Marlon Wayans’ Other Children
Once paternity is established, this will be the third child for the 51-year-old comedian and actor.
Marlon Wayans is already a proud father to his two children, Kai and Shawn, from his previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Angelica Zachary.
In November, Marlon opened up about his trans son during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.”
He revealed his plans to release another stand-up special tentatively titled, “Skittles” or “Rainbow Child,” which is about his “daughter who transitioned to a son.”
“My daughter Amai (Wayans) is now Kai and so I talk about the transition – now their transition – by my transition as a parent going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance. I think there’s a lot of parents out there that need to have that message and I know I’m dealing with it.”

Marlon Speaks Out
Speaking exclusively to TSR, Marlon Wayans had a lot to say about the paternity suit against him.
Marlon explained this is a case of a baby mama going for the gusto when it comes to child support.
“It’s a classic case of a good, loving, responsible father shelling out over $18,000 per month for a one-year-old, and an entitled woman who decides she wants more. My mama and nem would’ve lost their minds for $2,000.”
He also noted the baby isn’t a secret… he just kept her out of the public eye to protect her peace.
“All love, all GOD. The baby isn’t a secret. The mama has been posted. But I chose to keep the baby’s private life private. Ain’t nobody’s business. Social media is toxic and dangerous, and I’d like to keep her peace.”
When asked about visitation and if he plans to fight for joint custody of his daughter, Marlon Wayans said:
“Do you pay all that money per month and be called a ‘visitor?’ Do the math. This is delusional. I will let the lawyers and God do what they do. I’ll be creating art from a broken heart. I got nothing but love. Even when it’s bad, it’s good…it’s GOD.“
