Kelly Rowland was a hot topic over the weekend after the Destiny’s Child singer and actress reportedly walked out on her “Today” show appearance over a dressing room dispute.

What Happened With Kelly Rowland At The ‘Today’ Show?

Long story short – Kelly, who is doing press to promote her forthcoming Netflix film, Mea Culpa, guested in the 8 a.m. hour of “Today,” and was slated to return in the fourth hour as guest host with Hoda Kotb.

Apparently, Kelly Rowland wasn’t feeling her dressing room, so she grabbed her purse like Viola Davis and bounced.

Rita Ora Steps In A Last-Minute Guest Host Of ‘Today’

Rita Ora, who was also a guest on Thursday’s show, stepped in at the last minute to serve as guest host. 

The singer took to social media to confirm her last-minute gig writing:

Well, this happened! We had two minutes to prepare ahhh, thank you @hodaandjenna for asking me to co-host the show…

Everyone was so lovely and kind, I had SO much fun doing it!! 💗💗💗

Love to everyone that tuned in, maybe we should do more??!!!

Marlon Wayans Defends Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland has not addressed all of the negative press she’s received regarding whatever happened at the “Today” show, but Marlon Wayans entered to chat to defend her.

The comedian and actor, who worked with Kelly on his Netflix Halloween comedy, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, and said Kelly is “nothing short of AMAZING.”

Marlon Wayans wrote: 

Y’all stop with these false narratives.

I’ve worked with @kellyrowland as a Star/producer i will honestly say she was nothing short of AMAZING.

Sweet, kind, professional.

On time, great energy, impeccable manners, and professionalism.

She was nice to EVERYONE on set.

Get both sides before you castrate anymore legends. Love this woman.
