Jussie Smollett Reportedly Enters Rehab After An ‘Extremely Difficult Past Few Years’

Jussie Smollett is taking measures to repair and strengthen his mental and physical health.

The 41-year-old “Empire” star has started treatment at an outpatient rehabilitation facility, according to his rep.

Jussie has had an extremely difficult past few years. He has quietly been working very hard for some time now and we are proud of him for taking these necessary steps.

Jussie Smollett has been fighting to get his life back on track after he was accused of lying about being a victim of a hate crime in January 2019.

In December 2021, the actor and singer was convicted of falsely reporting a hate crime.

Jussie was sentenced to 150 days in jail, 30 months of felony probation, $120,106 in restitution to the city of Chicago, and a maximum fine of $25,000.

As he was led out of the courtroom to jail, he yelled, “I am not suicidal. If anything happens to me when in there, I did not do it to myself and you must all know that!

Jussie Smollett’s celebrity friends began speaking out in support of him.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles also spoke out saying that Jussie’s punishment didn’t fit his crime

After nearly a week in jail, Jussie Smollett was released pending his appeal on a $150,000 bond. 

Since his release, Jussie has directed his first feature film, B-Boy Blues.

He has also released new music and was seemingly getting his life back on track to the best of his ability.

Jussie Smollett well and I’m happy he’s doing what’s necessary to preserve his mind, body, and soul.

His appeal is ongoing in his Chicago criminal case.
