Jon B is not a fan of how Gunna and Chlöe Bailey used his timeless hit, “They Don’t Know” for their 2022 collaboration, “You & Me.”
During an interview on the “Can We Talk R&B? Podcast,” the R&B singer discussed “They Don’t Know” and revealed:
It does get sampled every year by someone.
Last year, it was Gunna and Chlöe Bailey…they put that ratchet record out that I couldn’t stand.
And I wish they never did.
Actually, never got my rights to do that record either.
So…uhh, Gunna, we gotta holla about that.
That’s some business s**t we gotta handle.

Jon B is entitled to feel like the song is trash, and definitely feel away if gunna never cleared the sample.
HOWEVER… a white man calling black people ratchet is where I have a problem.
I know n***as love Jon B, but this is what happens when yt people get too comfortable.
Another person tweeted:
I respect Jon B like a mf but I hate when these celebs can’t keep s**t between them.
He didn’t have to call it ratchet he didn’t even have to say anything about gunna owing him either.
