Issa Rae and HBO will continue to build and create beautiful content together.
WarnerMedia announced Issa has signed a new five-year overall deal to give HBO, HBO Max, and Warner Bros. television exclusive rights to her TV projects.
But, that’s not all! The pact also includes a first-look deal with Warner Bros. Pictures Group, New Line and HBO Max for her film projects.
Issa Rae told Variety:
It’s really exciting to have that flexibility and just deepen the relationship that we already have. Hoorae already had at least 15 projects in various stages of development with them, so we’d been working with them on the drama side, the unscripted side, and the documentaries side for a couple years now.
When people believe in you and build with you, I tend to want to further that relationship. That’s just been a staple of mine with so many of the people that I work with.
According to Variety, Issa Rae’s overall deal is valued at $40,000,000 over five years.
You may recall in February, I told you HBO Max ordered Issa’s comedy series, “Rap Sh*t.”

Not to mention, the fifth and final season of “Insecure” is in production, season 2 of “A Black Lady Sketch Show” premieres on April 23, “The Vanishing Half,” “Nice Parents,” and the documentary series, “Seen and Heard,” is on the way.
Congrats to Issa!
Sis got big tings gwan!
