If you haven’t received your stimmy…this may be the reason why…the Internal Revenue Service sent stimulus checks to 13 million incorrect bank accounts in it’s rush to deliver them.
Jackson Hewitt blew the whistle on the tomfoolery saying the IRS “inadvertently sent payments to over 13 million bank accounts that are no longer open or valid.”
The IRS released the following statement on Thursday regarding their major fumble:
If the second Economic Impact Payment was sent to a temporary account that is closed or is no longer active, the IRS is currently working with our tax industry partners on options to potentially get these payment to individuals as quickly as possible. More information will be shared when available.
Hopefully, you or your loved ones were impacted by this major mix up.
