I am sad to report Gangsta Boo, who is revered as the “First Lady of Southern Rap,” was found dead on New Year’s Day, according to Fox 13 Memphis.
The former Three 6 Mafia rapper, whose real name is Lola Mitchell, was found at approximately 4 p.m.
She was 43.
Details surrounding her death have not been released as this is a breaking and developing story.
Gangsta Boo previously made headlines when she and her boyfriend, Emmet Flores, were booted from the cast of WEtv’s “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition” for contraband.
She took to Twitter and blasted production for staging and planting a bag, which appeared to have a white powdery substance in it.
DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia took to Instagram and shared a photo of Boo without a caption.
K. Michelle, who is also from Memphis, took to Twitter to share she is heartbroken.
“You already know what it is. We FOREVER! Broke my whole heart today sis. I love you ❤️ #memphis R.I.P. Gangsta Boo.”
Many others have taken to Twitter to react the news of Gangsta Boo’s untimely passing.
