After watching the first four episodes of “Dutton Ranch,” I can confidently say this new chapter for Beth and Rip is already packed with chaos, tension, and classic “Yellowstone” energy.

The highly anticipated Paramount+ series follows Beth and Rip as they leave Montana behind to start over in Rio Paloma, Texas.

But if you thought relocating meant peace, healing, and quiet ranch life… absolutely not.

From rival ranch drama to emotional family moments and dangerous new enemies lurking around every corner, “Dutton Ranch” wastes no time throwing viewers right back into the fire.

The series premieres with two episodes on Friday, May 15, on Paramount+ and Paramount Network before continuing with weekly episodes throughout the season.

Beth And Rip Bring Their Chaos To Texas

One thing “Dutton Ranch” does exceptionally well is immediately establish that Beth and Rip may have left Yellowstone behind, but the emotional baggage, danger, and dysfunction definitely came with them.

The first few episodes dive into the couple’s relocation journey while showing the emotional weight of trying to build a future far away from the ghosts of Montana.

And while Beth is still very much Beth… unpredictable, sharp-tongued, and ready to verbally destroy somebody at a moment’s notice… the series also gives us softer moments between Beth, Rip, and Carter that really worked for me.

Carter has grown tremendously, and watching Beth and Rip lean further into parenthood adds an emotional depth to the story that I genuinely wasn’t expecting.

Annette Bening And Ed Harris Instantly Raise The Stakes

“Dutton Ranch” wastes absolutely no time introducing the major players who will shape this season.

Annette Bening is phenomenal as Beulah Jackson, a rival ranch owner who immediately commands attention every time she’s on screen.

Listen… Beulah is the kind of person who tries to dominate everybody around her because she has no control over what’s happening inside her own household.

And Annette Bening plays that energy perfectly.

Then there’s Ed Harris as Everett McKinney, a compassionate veterinarian and former veteran who feels calm and grounded… but also very capable of handling business if things get ugly.

And judging from these first episodes? Things are definitely going to get ugly.

Every actor in this cast is fully committed, and it gives the series the grit, emotional weight, and authenticity needed to stand strong within the “Yellowstone” universe.

Is “Dutton Ranch” The Best “Yellowstone” Spinoff Yet?

It’s still early, but “Dutton Ranch” absolutely has the potential to become one of the strongest entries in the franchise.

By the end of Episode 2, the stage is fully set for the chaos, drama, and tomfoolery that will unfold this season.

Beth and Rip still can’t catch a break long enough to experience peace, and honestly?

That’s exactly why this story works.

But beyond the tension and conflict, what still makes this franchise so compelling is the relationship between Beth and Rip.

Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser continue to have incredible on-screen chemistry, and the way Rip loves Beth still makes my TV heart swoon every single time.

It just feels good seeing them back on screen again.

Is “Dutton Ranch” Worth Watching?

Absolutely.

“Dutton Ranch” delivers everything longtime “Yellowstone” fans could want while creating a fresh new environment that raises the stakes in interesting ways.

The Texas setting feels grittier, the rivalries feel more dangerous, and the emotional tension hits hard early.

After watching the first four episodes, I’m fully seated to see where this season goes next.
