Desiree Lindstrom, DMX’s fiancée, recently spoke on the “It’s Tricky With Raquel Harper” podcast about life after DMX.
When asked how difficult it is to move on with her son, Exodus, now that his father, DMX, is no longer here, a tearful Desiree responded:
It’s hard, you know, it’s really hard.
I just take it minute by minute. I know some people say you can take it day by day.
But, it’s really… not even minute by minute, it’s second by second.
My life changed so fast. From a blink of an eye.
It’s hard, but I just push myself.
Holidays get lonely … because Earl was my family, but I do have Exodus and I try to make the best of it, because I know that’s what he would’ve wanted me to do.
Desiree went on to say that she really appreciates those who have reached out to check on her and Exodus.
She also acknowledged the true DMX fans for their love and support.
Watch the video below:
Desiree and DMX were together for 10 years, and since his passing, she said she is focused on her son Exodus and setting a great example for him.
She is in school to become an Esthetician, and she actually took a 20-minute break from school to do the interview.
She revealed to Raquel that she still works a regular job to provide for her son.
Raquel asked her if there are any celebrities other than Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys who have helped her financially since X’s passing.
Desiree responded:
You never know other people’s situation and what’s going on.
We just went through a pandemic, and my thing is this situation is only making me stronger.
I can’t expect certain things from different people.
I have to learn how to hold my own and do what I have to do for myself.
So, it’s no love lost.
Raquel and Desiree also discussed her relationship with Tashera Simmons, DMX’s estate, and DMX’s legacy.
